Homosexuality, as in the behavior, is a sin.
Homosexuality, as in feelings, is not.
Your actions, as well as thoughts are both held against you in the last day as a witness of what you have done. Sodomy is a sin that has long been preached against, both in the bible and in modern revelations.
You are given no control over your feelings. If you are feeling any homosexual attractions talk to your bishop, your parents, and the Lord. They will help you. You cannot help your feelings, but you can control your thoughts. Try to rid your mind of homosexual thoughts as soon as they come up. Now, do remember that this is not only for homosexual thoughts, but for heterosexual thoughts as well. The Lord would have us all keep our minds clean and pure from any impurities. Keep your minds chaste.
Many would tell you that it is impossible to change. It is not. Change is possible. Many people would tell you that there are biological reasons, social reasons, and reasons relating to upbringing, but the results are inconclusive.
If the case of the problem is biological, which there is not enough proof yet to determine, we were placed on earth to be tried. We were given imperfect bodies. Some people have physical disabilities, mental disabilities, or others. Just as it is not a sin to have a speech impediment, it is not a sin to have homosexual feelings. The key thing is about what you do with the challenge you are given. You must not let it define yourself.
Remember that all are children of God, and that you are not excluded. That is how we should look at ourselves.
Homosexual actions are a severe sin, but one that can be repented of. The repentance of such a sin is never easy. The repentance must be sincere, and actions put into place to insure that it will not happen again. This takes a great deal of personal sacrifice. The feeling you have after repentance of a homosexual sin, just as after any sexual sin, will be glorious. With this feeling, you must still, and always be careful to not fall back into the sin.
